From Sawdust to Stitches: How Our Daughter, Jasmine, Became a Young Entrepreneur

At RnG Custom Crafts, we often talk about the joy of turning a passion into a craft. We’ve always hoped that our journey—balancing full-time work with the dedication to our woodworking hobby—would inspire our children. Recently, we’ve seen that inspiration blossom in the most wonderful way: through the soft, chunky stitches of our daughter, Jasmine.

The Spark of a New Craft

Just days before her tenth birthday, nine-year-old Jasmine picked up a crochet hook and a ball of yarn. What started as a simple curiosity quickly turned into a dedicated passion. She taught herself the basics, and soon, her creations began to take shape. Her specialty? Adorable, plush amigurumi, like the charming little frog and the bunny in its matching green overalls. Her work is characterized by its cozy texture and undeniable cuteness, making each piece a perfect, huggable companion.

Inspired by the Family Workshop

As business owners ourselves, Rene and I have always believed in the value of hard work, creativity, and the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands. We often talk about the CNC machine, the custom orders, and the process of running RnG Custom Crafts. We believe this environment, where the entrepreneurial spirit is a part of daily life, provided the perfect backdrop for Jasmine’s own ambitions.

When she expressed a desire to take her creations to the next level, we were thrilled. She didn't just want to crochet; she wanted to be a business owner, too.

Jasmine’s First Craft Show: A Leap of Faith

The opportunity arose when a kind neighbor mentioned an upcoming local craft show. Jasmine didn't hesitate. With the same determination Rene puts into building a custom speaker box, and the same planning I put into a CNC design, Jasmine prepared for her debut.

I had the privilege of joining her at the show, watching her interact with customers, proudly display her handmade plushies, and handle her very first sales. It was a moment of immense pride for our family. Her booth, filled with her soft, colorful creations, was a resounding success, proving that age is no barrier to entrepreneurship.

Jasmine’s journey is a beautiful reminder that the spirit of craftsmanship and business is contagious. Whether it’s the precision of a CNC-carved sign or the delicate loop of a crochet stitch, the joy of creating and sharing that creation with the world is a powerful thing.

We are so proud of our young entrepreneur and can’t wait to see what she creates next!
